As adults, we are led to believe that play is for children and has no place in adulthood.

Be serious and stop fooling around.” That’s the message we often hear as we grow up.

The problem lies within the fact that people (myself included) learn to merely endure their jobs and spend their lives waiting for the following weekend or the next vacation to enjoy life to the fullest. A life led this way can feel fleeting and wasted. If we were to spend five days a week working and going through the same motions only to have fun for two whole days, that’s 71% of our lives spent waiting to have fun and enjoy ourselves.

For many years, I felt something was missing. This is why I embarked on a journey to find the lost piece of the puzzle. It was Play.

If you feel exhausted, frustrated, drained, or just tired of waiting and feeling like there is more to life, you’re not alone. I get it. I felt the same. No one deserves to feel this way.

As a professional with decades of experience in a distinctly unplayful sector, I have slowly learned that you don’t have to choose one or the other when it comes to work and play. You can have both, and I mean that sincerely.

If you feel a critical deficiency in the amount of play adults are “allowed” to practice in their work and everyday lives, this might just be for you. Have you felt that you wish to return to your inner playful self? To live and lead with curiosity and passion, taking on life’s wonders and challenges as opportunities for growth? If so, this book is for you.

Why have I written this book?

😀

I have tried to make this journey as playful and easygoing as possible. I share my stories, experiences, and simple principles that helped me become more playful.

The book is divided into three parts:

  1. Playful Self (it all starts with you).

  2. Playful Leader (let’s “work” to transform the workplace).

  3. Playful Parent (let’s bring it home).

Playfulness became my anchor to leading life with joy; it could do so for you too.
